Hear from Roy: Thankfulness

“It is because of your loving generous heart that I could bring home some joy for my kids…”

This past Christmas, we did things a little different than past years. We reached out to our community and asked for help, so that the men of Eagle’s Nest could provide Christmas gifts to their children.

We created a wish list and our community quickly came out to support our men and their families. In total, the generous gifts from our many supporters helped make Christmas special for 75 children whose fathers are attending or recently graduated from Eagle’s Nest.

Roy’s story and testament, above, speaks to what all of the men felt from this support.

After Christmas time, the men all sat down with notebook paper and wrote “Thank you” notes to let our community know what these generous donations meant for themselves and their children.

We wanted to share some excerpts of those letters today:

“Thank you for being selfless and reminding me that love and kindness are what the Holidays are ready about…”

“Your kind hearts warm not only mine, but the hearts of many men and our children. The presents they received brought joy and happiness because of your kindness and generosity…”

“My children and the other men and women of Eagles Nest, have been given a memory that will never fade, and forever be engraved on our hearts. The true love of God…”

All of us at Eagle’s Nest—from our Men and all our staff—can not thank you enough for what this generosity meant to all of us. Our goal was met, and then some, so that no child has to go without feeling the joy that Christmas brings.

Through your support, you made Christmas joyous for 75 children and their families.

We affect many lives through the programs here at Eagle’s Nest and no days go by where we aren’t grateful for our community that makes this possible. From all of us at Eagle’s Nest, THANK YOU.
